John 10:10
King
James Version (KJV)
10 The thief
cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they
might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
But, what is this abundant life? I believe it is a life free of decay,
destruction, and consumption by death. This is a life that is free from the
entrapment that sin brings by way of temptation. We are not alive by consuming things
alone. We are alive by consuming the
life giving power and presence of God.
Life Himself. That’s why Jesus
said:
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone,
but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
But inside of us all lays desires that we
should not pursue. This temptation is
the enemy’s hope of bringing death to the living. Sin tangles us and chokes this new life out
of us.
James
1:14-15
Darby
Translation (DARBY)
14 But
every one is tempted, drawn away, and enticed by his own lust;
15 then
lust, having conceived, gives birth to sin; but sin fully completed brings
forth death.
This means that sin is an event motivated
by temptation, but the incurring death is a process. Just like natural birth. It has to grow up and develop. Sin Is the cancer of the believer. It may not kill you today, but death is
growing in you. And what is death really?
Death in no more that what consumes all of the life in the living. Is a force that
makes everything like it’s self, existing without the ability to create or
respond. It is life devoured and consumed. God wants us to be free for sin which entangles
and in time, devours the life that He died to give. A life that overflows.
Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him,
Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more,
She said, No man,
Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
But if we do… What next??
1 John 1:9, 1 John 2:1, and so many more!!! Love
you!
