"Why!?!?"
There was a tv show back in the day called "Kids Say the Darndest Things". It was a great show for a lot of reasons. We learned so much about life through the viewpoints of children. It was comical but very insightful. With that in mind, I recall the most repetitive question that would here from children. "Why?"
But why ask why? Think about it, as kids you are exposed to a whole new world. A world that doesn't have to make sense to exist. It just does. So now we have to ask "why?" This question helps us to make sense of the world so we can find our place in it.
As we get older, and feel like we got it together, we stop asking why questions. We get lazy and start answering Who, What, When, and How a whole lot more than asking "Why?" If we ever even decide to ask questions at all. Most would rather do what's comfortable.
Questions help us grow. Ask yourself. Better yet ask God or another trusted friend, "Why do I continue to do the things I know shouldn't?" "Why did I eat those donuts AGAIN?" Then maybe their answers will include the who, whats, whens, and the hows. But it starts from why. I can see why Jesus said we must first become as children.
They just want to grow. So whether it's getting in shape, getting over your past, breaking bad habits, choosing a path for life.... Understand, the destiny that you can dare to dream of is already pursuing you. It's sometimes right on the other side of your worst decisions. The ones you can shake so easily.
God's love has already decided you're awesome and you deserve the best of life. So ask a close friend "why" you make decisions that disappoint yourself over and over again. Read a book and pray. By faith, believe that the truth is pursuing you and wants to be revealed. Be Blessed.
